JOB OBJECTIVE

The priority of this role is to provide the Wellness Commercial team with quantifiable market, category, customer and competitor intelligence and insights derived from external demand data and trends. In addition, the purpose of this role includes the ability to provide shopper understanding to enable category strategies that deliver revenue and EBITDA growth.

TASK DESCRIPTION

• Monthly review – deliver a monthly review of how the business is tracking vs category YTD
• Divisional Category insights – to assist the marketing and sales teams with external market insights to enable winning category, brand and customer plans
• Category and Channel insights – assist the division in gaining an improved understanding of category and channel dynamics driving growth, thereby assisting in the development of winning Divisional strategies
• Shopper insight development – to build towards an improved understanding of shopper dynamics in the focused categories thereby enabling improved promotional messaging, promotional planning and execution driving increased promotional ROI
• Innovation planning – to assist the marketing teams in developing robust Innovation plans based on sound category and shopper insights
• Execution excellence – to collaborate with the Marketing and Sales teams to assist in day to day management of product lifecycle, promotional ROI, pricing management, promotion execution and NPD roll out.

Education and Training:

Qualifications:

• Matric
• Tertiary education with relevant business degree/diploma
• Computer Literate in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

Knowledge:

• The ability to collaborate and work in teams
• A sound knowledge of FMCG and the Pharmacy channels and customers
• The individual should have good experience in project management and managing and influencing across a matrix organization
• Strong analytical skills that are backed up with an ability to deliver insights from the data
• Detailed knowledge of how to target and segment Pharmacy and Experts on annual basis
• Strong delivery of ROI management to drive the thinking across the commercial business
• Excellent time management to ensure that all projects/work-streams are delivery on time

Complexity:

• Familiarity of all the different data sets and an understanding of how to group the data for the relevant audience including but not limited to Aztec and IMS/Impact Rx etc.Managing external data from different sources
• Being able to plan your time by prioritizing projects/work-streams
• Diverse channel and customer understanding
• Shopper knowledge across South African landscape, familiar with LSM’s
• Ability to create and utilise segmentation models to derive simple clear strategies and plans

• Support the annual Category and Brand planning process as lead by the Marketing Head
• Collaborate with Financial Managers and Divisional analysts
• Support the budget planning process annually
