Lead and direct the Technical function to deliver high quality products and drive quality awareness, regulatory compliance and category leadership, core business product development to support the commercial objectives of the business and enable market and category leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, review and report on the Technical Services strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the heads of department
• Accountable to ensure that the following functions run effectively and efficiently: Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory, Product Development, Analytical Development Presents an annual budget for EXCO approval and prudently manages resources within those budget guidelines according to company policy and within ethical corporate governance guidelines
• In consultation with the HR department, implements effective people management, development, recruitment and retention strategies in the department.

Requirements

• B.Pharm, B.Eng or relevant B.Sc qualification
• A relevant postgraduate business qualification (MBA or equivalent) would be beneficial
• At least 5 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry of which 3 years must have been in a senior management role
• Track record of success and expertise in the fields of Quality, Regulatory and Product Development
• A global mindset and understanding of the Compliance challenges within the industry •Sound commercial skills, project management skills and demonstrated track record of success in leading a team of highly qualified professionals
• Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and timelines.
