We are currently looking for a Senior Management Accountant to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.
What we expect you to do:
- Manacc Analysis and follow up
- WIP - Specific interventions and follow up
- Business Review prep
- Forecasting and follow up on progress (incl 911)
- Cost Centre analysis vs budget and follow up
- GRN - chase costs
- Timebooking - Check utilization tocost centre breakeven
- Sign off quote completeness on PS/Health & Safety/Commissioning and margins
- Approve smaller jobs <R50 000
- Benefits realignment & expense claim sign off
- Cash flow knowledge and management - related working capital efficiency
- Understand and interpret financial transactions for project, department or company
- Reconcile spending with budget as part of job costing
- Analyse financial performance and forecast longer term horizons
- Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost
- Maintain records and support auditing efforts
- Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions
- Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials
- Cross pollinate in terms of knowledge base with exisitng managers and employees
Here’s what we are looking for in candidates for this job
Key requirements:
- BCom in accounting, finance or similar field
- Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
- Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
- Excellent knowledge of risk analysis,budgeting and forecasting
- Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office
- Working knowledge of foreign currency transactions & forward cover contracts
Key abilities required:
- High energy levels/pride in work/commitment to profitable growth of the company
- Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or similar role
- Analytical mind with aptitude in math
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A problem solver with attention to detail
- Organizational and leadership skills
- Balance sheet recon abilities
