    Account Manager – Performance – Cape Union Mart

    Job Purpose

    • The Account Manager: Performance is responsible for driving digital revenue growth, site traffic and return on marketing investment across paid media, CRM and performance channels for the Cape Union Mart portfolio.
    • This role translates strategy into commercially accountable execution, working closely with the performance agency, eCommerce team and internal stakeholders to optimise revenue contribution and conversion performance.
    • This is a revenue-driving role with clear commercial accountability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Paid Media Strategy & Execution

    • Translate digital strategy into clear paid media briefs and execution plans.
    • Oversee performance across paid social, paid search, display, retargeting and affiliate channels.
    • Ensure campaign phasing aligns with trading priorities, stock depth and seasonal focus.
    • Drive structured creative testing and optimisation frameworks.

    CRM & Retention Marketing

    • Own strategy and execution across Email, SMS and WhatsApp channels.
    • Develop segmentation, automation and personalisation strategies.
    • Implement lifecycle journeys (abandoned cart, win back, post-purchase etc.).
    • Track revenue contribution per CRM channel.

    Performance Analytics & Optimisation

    • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly KPIs including ROAS, CPA, CVR, traffic, AOV and revenue.
    • Lead A/B testing across creative, messaging and landing pages.
    • Ensure accurate campaign tracking (UTMs, pixels, GA4 governance).
    • Analyse conversion funnels and recommend optimisation improvements.

    eCommerce Collaboration

    • Partner closely with eCommerce and merchandise teams to align paid strategy with stock and trading priorities.
    • Review customer behaviour, sales data and on-site performance.
    • Recommend landing page and merchandising improvements to improve conversion.

    Reporting & Commercial Insights

    • Deliver weekly performance dashboards and monthly deep-dive reports.
    • Translate performance data into actionable commercial recommendations.
    • Present quarterly optimisation plans aligned to revenue growth targets.

    Budget Management

    • Manage digital performance budgets.
    • Monitor spend vs revenue contribution.
    • Optimise efficiency and return on investment.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Digital revenue growth
    • ROAS
    • Conversion rate
    • Cost per acquisition
    • CRM revenue contribution
    • Traffic growth
    • Budget efficiency

    Requirements:

    • A relevant undergraduate diploma or degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a digital role, with a strong focus on digital performance, analytics, and measurable results.
    • Strong numerical and analytical capability, with a performance-driven mindset rather than a purely creative focus.
    • Strong paid media and CRM experience in retail or eCommerce.
    • Advanced understanding of digital analytics and attribution models.
    • Commercial mindset with strong numerical capability.
    • Experience managing agencies and cross-functional teams.
