Overview:

• A leading agricultural company is seeking an Accountant to oversee its financial operations and reporting. This role plays a critical part in managing financial functions, ensuring compliance, and contributing to organizational success.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• BCom degree in Accountancy
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles

Experience:

• Relevant experience in a dynamic environment (FMCG or agriculture non-negotiable) 
• Previous experience in a similar role 

Skills:

• Advanced Excel and computer proficiency
• Strong analytical, numeracy, and interpersonal skill

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and report management accounts monthly.
• Monitor and manage cash flow within budget.
• Oversee and review creditor reconciliations.
• Maintain an updated asset register and manage capex applications.
• Assist with stock takes and prepare month-end reports.
• Compile annual financial statements and monthly management statements.
• Prepare audit files and liaise with auditors.
• Approve journals, purchase orders, and EFTs daily.
• Ensure VAT calculations and submissions are accurate and timely.
• Identify and implement system and control improvements.
