Accountant - Cape Town at SoluGrowth Pty Ltd

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of financial accounts, including the salary and tax accounts.
• Assist the in-country staff with various finance functions including petty cash and expense claims.
• Review monthly calculations of statutory liabilities. i.e. WHT, VAT, PAYE, WCF and Pensions.
• Ensure creditors, cashbooks and petty cash capturing is kept up to date and reviewed on a weekly basis.
• Manage all balance sheet accounts monthly, including Tax assets & liabilities, Accruals & Prepayments.
• Ensure timely bank payments.
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
• Comply with financial policies and local regulations.

Requirements

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Relevant qualification (part-qualification will be considered if sufficient relevant work experience).
• Experience in a similar / general accounting role, within the financial services industry.
• Experience with tax, including withholding tax & VAT.
• Excel experience, as well as, Accounting package familiarity.
• Strong reporting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to self manage and work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-changing environment.
• To show initiative and the ability to identify, initiate and drive process improvements.
• Exposure to working with Pastel.
