    Actuarial & Analytics Solutions - Manager (A&AS)

    Job Description
    Main Purpose of Job

    Developing end-to-end analytical solutions for clients from various industries

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • The collection of data from clients in various formats (i.e. data mining)
    • Delivering predictive modelling solutions using Generalised Linear modelling, Time Series Forecasting methods, Price Optimisation and Customer Analytics
    • Performance of quality checks at every step of the modelling procedure to ensure robustness of the solution to be delivered
    • Post-modelling documentation and assistance in the implementation of the model on the client’s systems
    • The manipulation and analysis of data to provide the client with business information that assists them in fulfilment of their strategic objectives
    • The identification of meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships in data and explanation of these findings to people with varying backgrounds
    • The development of interactive user forms and reporting dashboards
    • The determination of recommendations for improving data integrity issues
    • The development of business rules to support risk-based analysis and/or risk based modelling
    • Contribution to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel
    • Understanding the engagement as it relates to client's business
    • Contribution to engagement planning and ensuring that deliverables meet work plan objectives and quality standards
    • Recognition and communication of opportunities to sell "add-on" work
    • Local and international travel (potential)

    Qualifications

    • University Degree in Economics, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related area • Postgraduate degree in a related field would be an added advantage • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. • Programming experience would be an added advantage (SAS, VBA, SQL, C# or similar)

    • Analytical mind and excellent problem-solving skills • Good data mining and documentation skills • Good command over statistical methods and econometrics • Awareness of the necessity of quality checks and controls • Ability to delve into detail while maintaining a broader business perspective on issues • Strong written and oral communication skills, specifically the ability to effectively communicate with clients and Deloitte teams across the globe • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires balancing competing priorities • The initiative to recommend new, innovative and effective approaches to existing business frameworks and/or solutions • Data analysis and mining experience using SAS and/or SQL would be an added advantage

    • Acts as a financial advisor across a broad spectrum of transactions through sophisticated analyses of financial information

    • Applies quality assurance, risk management, and confidentiality procedures in all areas of work performed and managed
    • Builds expertise in one stage of the M&A lifecycle and develops network in others to position client with other technical and market experts.

    • Applies experience in transactions with sector knowledge to inform
    • strategic and operational decisions and resulting financial implications in terms of a deal
    • Identifies risks and pricing considerations when conducting diligence
    • Begins to develop expertise in specific aspects of integration or separation value creation services to provide tailored solutions to support client
