Advanced Specialist: Enterprise Architect at AfroCentric Group

Position Purpose

• To design, implement, and manage the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. Must lead efforts to design technology solutions that drive operational efficiency, scalable, secure and drive customer-centricity.

Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into architectural strategies and roadmaps.
• Identify and address gaps in the current architecture, ensuring a clear path to modernisation and digital transformation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability in the healthcare industry.
• Create and maintain architecture models using tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA).
• Collaborate with domain architects and IT staff to analyse and document current and target states for systems and processes.
• Support the evaluation of existing systems and recommend improvements or replacements.
• Prepare architecture
• related documentation, including solution designs, process models, and compliance reports.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Establish and enforce architectural governance processes and standards.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Monitor architecture KPIs to ensure performance and scalability.

Drive customer-centricity:

• Maintain a high level of impact on other departments to support improved delivery
• Continually increase understanding of client and stakeholder needs, satisfaction, and service delivery

Specialist support to projects:

• Work with project teams to ensure solutions align with architectural standards and goals.
• Participate in workshops and meetings to gather input and present findings.
• Support cross
• functional teams in aligning technical solutions with business objectives.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Establish and enforce architectural governance processes and standards.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Monitor architecture KPIs to ensure continuous value add

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Partner with business units, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure architectural alignment across projects and programs.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology investment decisions.
• Communicate complex architectural concepts to non
• technical stakeholders.

Position Specific Outputs 

• Present proposals and provide expert recommendations as part of the architecture governance process
• Evaluate proposals, raise concerns, and contribute to informed decision-making.

Qualification and Experience 

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 3 years in healthcare industry
• Proven record of accomplishment of delivering large-scale architectural initiatives.
• Experience with legacy modernization in a healthcare administration setting is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (master's advantageous). Certifications: TOGAF
