    Area IT Manager

    Description

    • Belmond is looking for an Area IT Manager for Southern Africa, who will be responsible for our Cape Town based property and Botswana lodges. The position will be based in Cape Town with the requirement of international travel to Botswana.

    The duties and responsibilities include:

    • Implement agreed strategies and associated plans.
    • Implement and maintain the company wide standards and policies.
    • Develop, maintain, and review the company project program in partnership with the Group Directors of I.T.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule that meets the agreed objectives and business needs.
    • Manage and review I.T. projects.
    • Responsible for the management of I.T. and systems risk and compliance.
    • Lead the I.T. department and ensure that the staff is aligned with Belmond’s vision, mission, values and strategic priorities.
    • To communicate and provide recommendations to the Area senior management in areas of I.T. expertise.
    • Ensure the continued, uninterrupted operation of the business units, IT infrastructure and systems required for the company’s services, secure from threats and operating within agreed performance metrics.
    • Plan and manage the departmental budget and the I.T. capital expenditure program for the assigned region.
    • Implement a continuous measurement, review, audit, and benchmarking process to monitor the security, capacity, and performance of systems.
    • Negotiate and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLA) for local systems/vendors. Monitor and Report performance on centrally agreed SLA’s for the business units within the assigned region.
    • Work with the Area Senior Management and Divisional Director of I.T., to plan schedules and priorities and respond to any major issues.
    • Establish a yearly travel program that guarantees at least four yearly visits to all sites on the region.
    • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
    • Control wastage and take responsibility for the economy of all utilities and resources.
    • Communicate relevant information to the department and ensure that the Divisional Director of I.T. is kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
    • Report any problems/complaints to the Divisional Director of I.T.
    • Liaise with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.
    • Ensure monthly and quarterly IT tasks are completed.

    Requirements

    • MSCE (Including MS SQL), CompTIA or similar professional certification
    • 5 years + experience in hospitality IT management.
    • Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, IT Infrastructure, Windows Operating systems (both server and client), Windows AD, Converged Networks (Voice, Data Video), HP/Cisco Networking, IT Security, Voice Systems, Hospitality HSIA, Service Now ITSM, ITIL 3.0
