    Art Director

    You will be responsible for:

    Client relationships and strategy direction
     

    • Confidently present creative strategy, visual solutions and projects (at various stages of development) to clients and stakeholders
    • Recognize and flag opportunities for new business with existing and potential clients
    • Demonstrated ability to concept and develop solutions supporting creative briefs and marketing strategies
    • Experienced in digital design and marketing, with the understanding and ability to direct the design of interactive and immersive experiences
    • Pull visual references and create comps quickly to translate ideas into compelling client presentations
    • Capable of holding client relationships, including owning presentation meetings and working directly with them on productions
    • Clearly understands the importance of strategy, and ensures that all ideas on brief and fit within the comms framework
       
    • Creative and Design capabilities
       
      • Understand creative service offering in a holistic way and capabilities across the agency
      • Offer strong creative recommendations to produce the best work for our clients
      • Help lead creative project teams, provide creative feedback and direction, art checks, and assist in delegating creative work
      • Builds and defines the visual brand
      • Ability to lead and direct other graphic and visual designers (graphic designers, production artists, photographers, videographers, web designers, etc.)
      • Uphold and continuously improve the standards for the Creative team’s process of concept development and asset creation
      • Stay current with new creative trends, technologies, and digital advancements
      • Establish art direction, style and tone for brand campaigns across all channels

    Project Management

    • Collaborate with a large team of account directors, project managers, content strategists, designers, writers, editors, developers and consultants
    • Meet with PMs/clients to understand and make recommendations on project parameters, goals and tactics
    • Interpret a client’s needs based on nature of the project, budget, and objectives. Can suggest alternative creative solutions, as needed, based on design expertise
    • Ensures that ideas/designs are produced in a timely manner
    • Ability to mentor others in the design department
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skill to interact and communicate effectively in one-on-one and group situations and to build cooperative, effective working relationships

    Requirements

    • Relevant tertiary qualification
    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a large/integrated Advertising Agency
    • At least three+ years’ previous experience in a high-volume environment
    • A powerful creative portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation and problem-solving
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, utilise resources, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within scope
    • Proficiency with software applications used for digital advertising, such as Adobe Creative Cloud and In Vision
    • Proficiency with UX/UI
    • Maintain high standards for execution and attention to detail
    • Highly motivated and a high level of initiative; ability to work independently, in support of the agency’s creative goals and the client’s business objectives
