Appropriate experience in the mechanical field, general mechanical repairs.
Grade 10 Certificate or (or equivalent).
Maintain and repair equipment at the hospital. Assist with the execution of mechanical projects which will include fabrication & welding. Assist other departments within the workshop set up. Assist Artisans in the performance of their duties, and clean areas where work has been carried out. Complete and return repair requisitions and assist in ordering and controlling the workshop, materials and tools.
Strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Ability to plan ahead (pro-active), work independently as well as in a team and it would be required for the officer to learn & comply with in-house systems & procedures. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work independently and under pressure. Ability to carry out basic general welding tasks.
