Artisan Plumber-Engineering Services at Drakenstein Municipality

JOB PURPOSE:

• To perform skilled artisan functions and tasks related to the plumbing and drainage trade when new municipal buildings, certain civil infrastructure are built, when existing buildings and infrastructure are maintained. To perform certain administrative duties and supervise handyman and assistants associated with plumbing.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

• Trade Test, Plumbing Certificate NQF 3
• Able to obtain or have medical certificate of fitness to work at heights and in confined spaces and driven machinery operator certificate.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Code B driver’s licence
• Administrative skills
• Supervisory skills
• Good knowledge of OHS Acta and requirements
• Good communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to give attention to detail
• Proficiency in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-year appropriate experience in plumbing and drainage
