Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) at NECSA

BACKGROUND:

• The Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) is a structured process that acknowledges and validates the skills, knowledge, and competencies
• individuals have acquired through formal or informal work experience. The primary goal of ARPL is to recognise existing skills and experience by
• validating the practical skills people have acquired through work experience, informal learning, or non-formal training.
• The ARPL program will provide access to artisan trade testing by allowing competent candidates to enter an official trade test without completing the
• full accredited training programme and open a pathway for experienced workers to become qualified artisans.
• Employed and unemployed South Africans are invited to seize the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge, and experience in the following trades:

Electrical Engineering

• Electrician Total number =90
• Instrumentation Total number = 50

Mechanical Engineering

• Fitter and Turner Total number= 60
• Mechanical Fitter Total number= 60

Fabrication Engineering

• Welder Total number = 90

Please note the following:

• Only South African citizens will be considered for these opportunities.
• Admission into the program does not guarantee employment at Necsa.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Employed and Unemployed South African citizens.
• Proof of highest qualification obtained.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable work experience in the trade applied for.
• Provide a service letter on a company letterhead,
• with company registration number,
• employment start and end/current date of the current/previous employer
• position currently occupied
• only a minimum age of 19 years and above will be considered
• verifiable contact numbers
• service letter must be stamped
• The service letter must provide a breakdown of tasks performed.
• Selfemployed people must attach an affidavit with a breakdown of tasks performed
• Proof of residential address
• NB: Failure to submit a Service Letter from your current/previous employer(s), your application will be disqualified.
