We are seeking an Assistant Commissioning Editor for a 12-month fixed-term contract (with potential for extension). In this role, you will support the development of practical legal guidance on Lexis+ by commissioning expert contributors and managing content from concept to publication. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, collaborative, and passionate about legal content and publishing.
Responsibilities
Manage the full commissioning process from content requests to publication using established tools and workflows.
Conduct research to identify suitable authors based on practice areas and content needs.
Commission expert contributors, including those recommended by internal teams.
Negotiate contributor agreements and ensure all contractual terms are met.
Build and maintain strong relationships with authors and internal stakeholders.
Ensure content is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align content with user needs and business goals.
Monitor content performance using analytics tools and report on key trends.
Continuously seek ways to improve commissioning processes and increase efficiency.
Requirements
Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Clear and persuasive communicator, able to explain the value of contributing to LexisNexis.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how legal content supports professional needs.
Confident and credible when engaging with senior professionals and subject matter experts.

Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent legal experience is desirable.
