Job Description

• The Assistant Compliance Officer will assist the Compliance Officer Advanced within the FATCA CRS Compliance department to manage the FATCA CRS reporting and associated supporting processes across Old Mutual Limited (“OML”). These processes include the maintenance of our legal entity database, data analysis, management of regulatory returns, training of business unit staff across OML and providing Subject Matter Expertise services across OML.

Key Result Areas:

• The maintenance of the legal entity database and analysis and classification of entities.
• Providing subject matter expertise to business unit staff.
• Performing awareness training to staff across OML on FATCA CRS requirements.
• Reporting of OML Reporting Financial Institutions’ customer data/ NIL returns to the relevant Revenue Services in jurisdictions where OML operates.
• Delivery of the FATCA CRS project outcomes across OML.
• Keep up to date with all legislative changes impacting the area of responsibility.
• Promote awareness in Business Units to enable proactive. business. readiness with applicable legislative changes.
• Deliver on the approved annual compliance plan.
• Perform compliance monitoring.
• Draft compliance reports.
• Engage with operational management to discuss the non-compliances and review actions implemented to ensure compliance.
• Perform compliance activities with the use of the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) tool - CURA.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Grade 12.
• 3 Years industry experience.
• Studying towards or awarded the Compliance Institute’s (CISA) professional designation of a Compliance Practitioner – will be an added advantage.
• Studying towards/completed qualification in Corporate Governance field – will be an added advantage.
• Studying towards or completed a legal qualification – will be an added advantage.
• Data analytical experience – will be an added advantage.
• xperience in ensuring compliance with FATCA CRS legislation and Regulations.
• IT Skills: Ability to utilise software like MS Office: Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Report Writing: Ability to write reports to operational management.
• Presentation skills: Ability to present to operational management.
• Training Skills: Ability to train staff and operational management.
• Analytical: Ability to analyse complex interrelated data and information.
• Planning and Organising: Proficient planning and organising ability.
