    Assistant Director: Informal & Micro Business Development “REF NO: ASD IMBD”

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Education:

      • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Public Administration, Business Management, Development Studies, Economics, or equivalent as recognized by SAQA.
    • Experience:

      • A minimum of 3 years experience at a Functional Specialist level in the informal sector and micro-business support environment.
    • Competencies and Skills:

      • Problem-solving
      • Planning and organizing
      • Analytical thinking
      • Interpersonal skills
      • Client orientation and customer focus
      • Stakeholder relations
      • Service delivery innovation
      • Networking
      • Proficient in MS Office Packages
      • Must possess a valid driver's license.

    DUTIES:

    Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct research to identify best practices for programs, instruments, and projects that support informal and micro-businesses.
    • Perform comparison studies between available tools on informal and micro-business development to determine the most suitable for the South African ecosystem.

    Programme and Mechanism Analysis:

    • Analyse existing programs, designs, models, mechanisms, instruments, and guidelines to stay updated with the latest trends, ensuring that informal and micro businesses remain competitive.

    Programme Pilot Coordination:

    • Coordinate the piloting of new and improved programs related to livelihood support.

    Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders through letters, emails, reports, presentations, memos, and submissions.
    • Provide advice on procedural and technical matters regarding policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure compliance.

    Workshops and Information Sessions:

    • Coordinate workshops and information sessions to enhance understanding and implementation of informal and micro-business support strategies.
