    Assistant General Manager Operations Cluster1 – Grade E1

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Regional General Manager, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Manage capacity and demand through detailed operational plans Compare operational plans with daily execution and adjust where necessary to ensure minimal changes to parking bay lists, resource allocation and disruptions to plans.
    •  Take the lead on all aspects of Airport CDM and drive collaboration with all Airport Users.
    •  Ensure the category of the airport is maintained in terms of Rescue and Firefighting cover.
    •  Drive programs to improve ASQ results and passenger satisfaction levels and ensure all ASQ systems and programs are rolled out and executed.
    •  Ensure real-time monitoring of and responding to customer needs i.e., Transfer passengers, delayed flights, passengers with special needs.
    •  Manage the alignment of the overall Airport Operations Efficiency and the envisaged strategy to achieve the objectives through continuous improvement, implementation and maintenance of sound management systems and practices.
    •  Manage improvement of airport standards of excellence by ensuring compliance to policies, procedures, regulations, and relevant legislation.
    •  Monitoring construction activities and the impact thereof on operational requirements, safety standards, security standards and service levels.
    •  Take responsibility for all Operational systems such as the AMS, FIDS, AMC, Slots, Parking and Baggage to ensure future roadmaps and future user requirements are clearly defined for IT to deliver against.
    •  Analyse events and engage for a long-term solution for continuous improvement.
    •  Ensure business continuity during emergency situations (Phase 3 - crash/highjack).
    •  Participate in people development initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, talent management etc. to ensure team performance meet required standards.
    •  Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive working environment.
    •  Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions required to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
    •  Lead execution of client account plans and drive dissemination and sharing of customer intelligence with clients through the account specialists.
    •  Monitor success of engagement strategies and plans; and identify potential improvements.
    •  Participate in the compilation of annual operational budgets and monitoring of expenditure against budget and amendments to forecast if needed.
    •  Support the creation and growth of Commercial revenue and develop annual Capex budget.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:

    •  Bachelor's Degree in Transport Logistics / Science / Industrial Engineering / Commerce / Operations Management or relevant fields (3 years - 360 credits at NQF Level 7) is essential.
    •  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related (3 years - 360 credits at NQF Level 7) is recommended.
    •  Certificate in Airport Operations is recommended.
    •  10 years Airport Operations / Operations Management experience is essential.
    •  10 years supervisory or management experience is essential.
    •  Code B motor vehicle license.
    •  Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
