Assistant Manager Nursing (Specialty: Emergency Medical - EC, TTZ, ONW, PAED, Theatre, ORTHO, Triage, Day Ward) at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness

REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse
• A post-basic nursing qualification with duration of at least 1 year accredited with SANC in: Critical Care: Trauma & Emergency (R212) or Critical Care: General (R212) or Operating Theatre Nursing (R212) or Orthopaedic Nursing (212) or Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (R48) OR 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) + post graduate diploma (R635) in Critical Care / Emergency / Orthopaedic / Peri-operative / Primary Care Nursing
• Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse
• A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse
• At least 6 years must be appropriate experience in specific specialty after obtaining 1 year post basic qualification
• At least 3 years must be experience at management level
• Valid driver's licence, willingness to work shifts (night duty) on rotation, overtime, standby duties
• Experience/exposure in leading and managing teams

DUTIES:

• Provide leadership and supervision for provision of effective and efficient comprehensive holistic nursing care
• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders
• Coordinate and ensure implementation and adherence to quality assurance
• Efficient and effective management, utilization and supervision of resources
• Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development
