Assistant Manager - Processing - Johannesburg at Ernst & Young Global Limited (EY)

Your key responsibilities

• The role is client facing and requires multi-commodity experience. In the role the applicant will be required to execute on proposals, project management and timeous invoicing. The role may require travel from time-to-time to remote locations. The role is suitable to a person who has gained experience at a mineral processing plant or metallurgical plant. 

Skills and attributes for success

The role will require a firm understanding of the mining and/or oil and gas industry with technical or consulting experience in the following, but not limited, disciplines:

• Operational or Design Process Engineering related experience within the mining and/or oil and gas industries.
• Understanding of metal accounting
• Exposure to Technical Due Diligence and Reviews.
• Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills is a MUST.
• Utilise your expertise to conduct a full range of process engineering functions.
• Strong project management skills.
• Team player and Emotional Intelligent,
• Willing to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to travel to remote locations

To qualify for the role you must have

• As a minimum a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
• 2 years relevant practical processing experience at a mining operation or consulting company.
• Professional registration.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to building internal and external networks.
• Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general report writing skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Previous consulting experience
