Associate Professor in Information Systems - (1738) at University of the Western Cape/Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland

The successful candidate for Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

• Facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Information Systems programmes
• Conduct research and publish in mutually agreed Information Systems related foci
• Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
• Provide academic leadership and administration
• Undertake curriculum development and assessment
• Undertake community engagement and outreach
• Identify and pursue collaborative networks and research partnerships to advance the academic project

Minimum Requirements

• A PhD degree or equivalent in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Information Systems
• Relevant industry or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: Data Analytics, Software Development, Database Design 
• A track record of quality peer-reviewed publications in Information Systems and related knowledge areas
• A record of successfully supervising postgraduate students
• The integration of community engagement for societal impact with learning and teaching and/or research
• Evidence of expertise, national standing, and where appropriate, an international presence in the Information Systems or associated fraternities.
