    Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer: Department of Systematic Theology and Ecclesiology

    Duties        

    Teaching:

    • High quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching;
    • High quality postgraduate supervision.

    Research:

    • Development and operation of research programmes within the context of systematic theology (with a focus on public theology/theological ethics);
    • Delivering research outputs in the form of reports, papers, articles and monographs;
    • Attending national and international subject conferences and symposia;
    • Developing national and international research networks and partnerships.

    Community interaction:

    • Involvement in the church in various forms;
    • Involvement with the rest of the community in various forms;
    • Ensuring the practical relevance of modules for church and society.

    Academic management and administration:

    • Involvement in academic management and administration processes in the Faculty and at the University.

    Job Requirements    

    • Doctoral degree in systematic theology;
    • A proven research record and accredited publications on theological and ethical themes;
    • Proven experience of postgraduate supervision;
    • Knowledge of discourses related to systematic theology and theological ethics;
    • Academic proficiency for teaching and general communication in Afrikaans and English.

    Recommendation        

    • Proven experience of teaching on a tertiary level;
    • The ability to utilise computer and information technology in teaching and learning;
    • The ability to function in a multilingual environment;
    • Knowledge of and participation in church life in (South) African contexts;
    • Involvement in the church and society in its various forms.
