    Asst Officer Remuneration

    Job Purpose:

    • To collate payroll information and documentation to ensure that all employees and third parties are paid accurately and timeously and to resolve payroll queries to support the operation to achieve its objectives and goals.

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent)
    • At least 3 years’ experience within a Payroll environment.

    The Appointee should:

    • At least 3 years’ experience within a Payroll environment.
    • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
    • Clear security screening record.
    • Clear credit record.
    • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)

    Additional Requirements:

    • NQF 5 (Higher Certificate) in Payroll or related qualification will be advantageous.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Remuneration Administration  Ensure that employees are paid on time and that all wage calculations are accurate by computing wages and deductions, and entering data into computers, compiling employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.  Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.  Perform various other clerical tasks e.g. recording employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records, filing.  Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and posts information onto designated records.  Keep abreast of latest relevant developments or changes with regards to new tax laws by means of liaising with external sources, attending meetings and training sessions.  Attend to any payroll queries by providing information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.  Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, and unemployment and medical insurance.  Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconciles issued payrolls to bank statements.  Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and submit them to appropriate departments.
