Au Pair | Retreat | R10 500 Per Month at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• Area: Retreat
• Children’s Ages: 7 year old and 9 years old
• Child’s Neurodivergence Snapshot: Eldest son is on the autism spectrum (high-functioning ASD). Most people would not immediately recognise this when meeting him. He thrives on routine and benefits from having advance notice of any changes or plans. He experiences a high level of anxiety, is extremely empathetic, and prefers structure and clear rules. He also tends to think very deeply and quite literally. While his sensory sensitivities have improved over the years, overstimulation such as excessive noise, bright lights, or busy environments can still trigger episodes.
• Working hours: Monday – Friday 13:00 – 18:00 (flexibility is needed - times may change slightly with prior communication) 
• School holiday hours: Same as above / Slightly Flexible
• Duties: Collect from school, preparing lunch and supper, assisting with and ensuring homework is completed, and engaging with the children through play and activities during downtime, including occasional outings. The role will also involve transporting the children to extra murals and appointments, such as psychologist sessions. Assistance with school-related planning and admin will also be required. An added bonus would be encouraging the children to expand their diet and try new foods.
• Special Requirements: Someone extremely reliable, this is so important. Someone patient and understanding of neurodiverse needs, as well as someone mature who is able to commit to the role for at least one year, ideally longer. Most importantly, they would love someone who can create a safe, loving, and secure environment.
• Start Date and contract term: ASAP – permanent
• Salary: R10 500pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
