- Child’s Neurodivergence Snapshot: Eldest son is on the autism spectrum (high-functioning ASD). Most people would not immediately recognise this when meeting him. He thrives on routine and benefits from having advance notice of any changes or plans. He experiences a high level of anxiety, is extremely empathetic, and prefers structure and clear rules. He also tends to think very deeply and quite literally. While his sensory sensitivities have improved over the years, overstimulation such as excessive noise, bright lights, or busy environments can still trigger episodes.
