One of our clients that is based in Cape Town is looking for a CA(SA) qualified Audit Manager/ Audit Supervisor to join their team as Senior Accountant. Experience in Financial services/ Insurance is non-negotiable.
Responsibilities
Assume an active role in the US GAAP and Statutory financial close and reporting process with monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables including preparation of workpapers, journal entries and reconciliations
Support the Company's external financial reporting for both US GAAP and Statutory reporting
Assist with the coordination and preparation of various statutory supplemental and state compliance filings and other regulatory reporting
Prepare and submit various expenses for approval, including counterparty settlements and various state licenses and fees, as necessary
May assist in analyzing and documenting earnings and other key financial variances
Streamline processes and procedures to continually improve efficiency and controls, including preparation and enhancement of process documentation for assigned work
Perform required internal controls and maintain controls documentation as required under SOX
Support ad-hoc financial reporting/analysis projects
Develops technical understanding of insurance business from a unique vantage point
May require interaction with finance and business contacts outside of immediate department
Ability to communicate, present ideas, and influence others
Requires analytical skills through critical thinking, problem solving, and solution finding
Demonstrates leadership capabilities through team effort, initiative, customer service, and integrity
Qualifications
CA(SA)
SOX/ US GAAP experience
Experience in the Insurance/ Financial Services industry.
