Autos, Press & Plating – Team Leader at Hire Resolve

 The Autos, Press & Plating Team Leader is responsible for supervising daily production activities to ensure components are manufactured to quality, cost, and time standards. The role involves organizing workflow, monitoring team performance, and resolving production bottlenecks.

This individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with safety and company policies, and provide hands-on technical support. Additionally, the role requires maintaining equipment, managing staff development, and overseeing stock and system processes.
Requirements:

• Matric (NSC) – Essential
• Qualified Fitter & Turner (Trade-Tested) – Essential
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a mechanical/manufacturing environment
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience highly advantageous

Responsibilities: 

• Organize and oversee daily operations across the Autos, Press, and Plating sections
• Ensure proper setup, calibration, and readiness of Tornos Cam Auto machines
• Monitor and manage workflow, staffing, shift coverage, and production targets
• Compile and analyze production data and reports
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
• Ensure quality compliance as per internal standards and documentation
• Investigate and resolve quality-related issues
• Properly label and track components, materials, and assemblies
• Oversee basic operator maintenance and ensure maintenance records are updated
• Provide hands-on coaching, training, and performance management
• Manage absenteeism and enforce compliance with company policies
• Record and drive employee training programs
• Adhere to ERP system processes and manage work orders
• Control scrap and reject components to ensure data accuracy
• Drive 5S principles, visual management, and housekeeping
• Ensure full safety compliance and foster collaboration with support departments
