    Banking Clerk - Sandton

    Job Description

    To provide administrative and accounting support necessary to promote the vision of the company. This is an analytical role that requires attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

    Banking Clerk Job Duties:

    • Processing of cash and credit card payments /transactions
    • Deposit account clearing to zero each month
    • Daily clearing and reconciliations of assigned accounts
    • Processing of e-Wallet spend and reconciliation of e-Wallet control account
    • Issue petty cash
    • Maintain internal financial controls and procedures
    • Bank Statements Filed/Archived monthly
    • Daily tracking and monitoring of cash and credit card settlement variances
    • Follow up between Cash Centre, FNB & Operations
    • Month-end reconciliation of bank clearing accounts, i.e., cash, credit card and deposits
    • Journal monthly variances to income statement
    • Preparation of daily cash flow
    • Attend to administration on bank accounts as requested by CFO/FM
    • Manage bank account profile, credit limits, e-Wallets, Corporate credit cards and inter account transfers
    • Escalate unresolved queries to Supervisor/Financial Manager
    • Constant communication with all parties around cashbook function
    • Educate stakeholders around Ster-Kinekor Theatre’s policies and procedures

    Qualifications:

    • Matric
    • Minimum Diploma in Bookkeeping/ Accounting

    Experience and Knowledge of:

    • 2-3 years’ experience as a Banking Clerk/ Bookkeeper  
    • SAP

    Skills:

    • Good Accounting knowledge including IFRS, Tax and VAT
    • Software skills (Word, strong Excel, PowerPoint, SAP etc.)
    • Numeracy Skills
    • Retail experience will be advantageous
    • Good problem solving skills
    • Analytical and logical thinking skills.
    • Good Communication & presentation skills
    • Professional manner
    • Multi-tasking ability
