Boiler Operator - Goudini at Distell

Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Maintenance department, based at Distell Goudini Distillery. The successful incumbent will report to the Engineering Specialist.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Operate and control coal fired boilers on a shift basis
• Ash removal and ensure continuous coal supply
• Perform and reporting on required analyses of boiler processes
• Maintaining of MDT area and update of information
• Responsible for housekeeping in work area
• Assist in general maintenance and risk control
• Assist in maintenance activities during shutdown

The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• A technical qualification (T2 or similar) would be an advantage
• Discipline and motivation to work on your own for long periods without supervision
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
• Computer literacy would be advantageous
• Willingness to work abnormal hours on a shift basis (evenings and weekends included)
• Have reliable mode of  transport to workplace
• Excellent health
• Relevant experience would be advantageous
