Bottle Feeder and Capping Operator at Solenis

Packaging :

• Ensures enough packaging material to feed the filling stations at all times
• Separate and count all packaging material damages and report to robot operator on each shift. Ensure these are kept neat in accordance with good housekeeping practices
• Ensure that all packaging materials are ready for use and that the respective material and packaging are prepared and labeled accordingly
• Manually feed bottles when bottle scrambler machine is out of order or out for maintenance repairs. When required and where applicable, repetitively lifts weights physically (charging, weighing decanting and packaging).
• During shutdowns, work as per instruction from plant foreman, production manager or designate
• Accountable for housekeeping in working area, as well as the stacking and keeping of packaging material in packout.

Operating machinery :

• Monitors the functioning of the bottle scrumbler to ensure that machine filled with bottles, at all times.
• Assists maintenance personnel in carrying out minor adjustments on the bottle  scrumbler
• Performs commissioning and start up checks and ensures safe start up and shut down of bottle scrumbler machine and equipment

Responsible Care

• Ensuring that the EHS and Quality standards are strictly maintained
• Actively participate in constantly improving Plant and individual safety and housekeeping by engaging in cleaning up work area and spillages, get and put away tools, supplies and equipment.  This also entails the use of protective equipment as required and proper cleanup when done
• Comply to all safety rules and safe-job practices
• Report all accidents/incidents/injuries immediately to his/her supervisor, no matter how small
• Attend and participate in safety EH&S meetings
• Report all unsafe conditions to his/her Supervisor
• Keep his / her work area clean and neat (Maintain good housekeeping standards)
