BPC Business Analyst at Engen

Purpose of the Job
To manage, analyse and report on accounting data in financial control function with the objective of ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all accounting records, analyse trends and ensuring adherance to all accounting policies in order to safeguard assets and minimise risks with minimal audit findings.

What you’ll have done before:
Baseline:

• NQF level 7 accounting degree (e.g. B. Com Accounting)
• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge
• Sound financial experience in complex financial consolidations, business planning & forecasting
• Minimum 5 years’ finance function related experience 
• Analytical experience demonstrating strong financial acumen
• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
• Data modelling experience

Advantageous:

• Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
• Group financial reporting / planning experience
• SAP accreditation for BPC, SAC
• SAP BPC NW knowledge and experience (standard) – administration, report building
• SAP BPC NW knowledge and experience (embedded)
• SAP Analytics Cloud
• SAP BI, BW, BW-IP knowledge, and experience
• SAP ERP knowledge (FI, CO, CO-PA, S4/HANA)
• Working with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions
• Microsoft Power BI
• Excel VBA
• SAP Analysis for Office
• Business analyst experience
• Financial system implementation experience

Exciting challenges you might face in the role:

• Use your IFRS knowledge to maintain the complex consolidation processes performed in BPC.
• Develop and maintain schedules to gather information for shareholder reporting.
• Develop reports to assist businesses in improving their decision-making capabilities.
• Develop models to assist businesses to prepare their financial forecasts and business plans.
• Use technology to drive efficiency of financial processes in the areas of financial consolidation, financial reporting, monthly forecasting and annual planning.
• Overtime required over month end and December year end.

What you’ll be doing:
Development:

• Gather, analyze and document business requirements
• Development according to functional specification
• Quality assure system configuration and development 
• Data modeling of transaction and master data
• System administration and maintenance:
• Ongoing system administration and maintenance 
• Research new technology and functionality 
• System impact analysis for new and changed functionality
• Analyze impact of new implementations and/or changes to core SAP system on BPC environment 
• Maintenance of security
• End-user support and training:
• Perform first line user support by diagnosing and resolving queries
• Provide support during the business plan & financial consolidations cycles to the BPC business user community
• Perform BPC training to new users as requested
