    Branch Inspections and Investigations Officer

    About the role

    • The Branch Inspector & Investigator will play a key role in protecting the integrity of our branch operations by conducting branch inspections and fraud investigations.
    • You will assess branch compliance with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, while also investigating suspected fraud, theft, misconduct and unethical activity. The role requires someone who can confidently work with evidence, analyse information, identify risks and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
    • This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel to EasyPay branches within the designated province.

    What you will do

    • Conduct scheduled inspections across the EasyPay branch network to assess compliance and identify operational and control risks.
    • Complete branch inspection checklists and prepare accurate inspection reports.
    • Identify compliance gaps, control weaknesses and recurring findings, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
    • Follow up on identified findings and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
    • Receive and assess allegations or referrals relating to fraud, theft, misconduct and unethical activity.
    • Plan and conduct thorough fraud investigations, including gathering and analysing physical and digital evidence.
    • Conduct interviews with witnesses, subjects and relevant stakeholders.
    • Analyse financial and transactional information to identify irregularities, anomalies and potential fraudulent activity.
    • Compile detailed investigation reports setting out the evidence, findings, conclusions and recommendations.
    • Compile investigation dockets and open SAPS cases where required.
    • Attend disciplinary enquiries and provide witness testimony in relation to investigations.
    • Manage assigned FICA-related matters, including verification disputes, name changes and pending approvals.
    • Maintain accurate investigation and inspection records on relevant systems, including SharePoint and investigation trackers.
    • Work closely with Fraud Risk, Compliance, Legal, HR and operational stakeholders to address identified risks.
    • Contribute to fraud prevention, compliance awareness and risk mitigation initiatives across the branch network.

    What you will need

    • Matric.
    • A relevant degree or diploma in Fraud Investigation, Risk Management, Law, Accounting, Forensic Accounting, Compliance, Auditing or a related field.
    • At least 2 years' experience in the financial services or banking industry.
    • At least 2 years' experience in fraud investigations, auditing, branch inspections, compliance or a related risk environment.
    • Knowledge of fraud detection and investigation methodologies.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse financial and transactional information.
    • Experience in evidence gathering, interviewing and investigation report writing.
    • Knowledge of FICA-related processes will be advantageous.
    • Experience with SAPS cases and disciplinary enquiries will be advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint or similar document management systems.
