Bridge Engineer at Surbana Jurong Private Limited

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Engineering:

• Lead the design and analysis of bridge structures, ensuring compliance with local standards and international codes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, urban planners, and geotechnical engineers, to develop effective and innovative bridge designs.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for bridge projects.

Project Management:

• Manage bridge projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality control measures.
• Oversee the production of engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations in line with project requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities to present design solutions and address any technical concerns.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Innovation and Sustainability:

• Advocate for the integration of sustainable engineering practices in bridge designs, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental impact.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in bridge engineering, materials, and technologies to drive innovation in project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a specialization in bridge engineering.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in bridge design and project management, with a proven track record of delivering successful infrastructure projects in South Africa.
