Business Analyst / Product Owner - Parktown at Hollard Insurance

Job Advert Summary    

• The Business Analyst (BA) role will need to fulfill a Product Owner role within the Life Solutions arena.  The BA is the main link between business and IT and as such must have skills within both areas. Strong communication skills are required to elicit requirements, deliver on solutions and resolve issues. The BA will be required to work on multiple projects concurrently and manage his/her time effectively. A friendly outlook on life with a can-do attitude.

Process

• Analyse and define Business requirements for Defects, Maintenance and Enhancements
• Produce Detailed User Stories for enhancements, maintenance and bugs
• Assist in identifying enhancement/task risks
• Track delivery of requirements and provide regular, continuous and accurate feedback to IT management and stakeholders
• Participation in and sign-off of user acceptance testing, pilot and production testing
• Manage Product Owner backlog and participate in all agile ceremonies

General

• Adhere to set process standards
• Define and design business solutions that meet customer requirements
• Ensure all deliverables are delivered on time, within budget, scope and quality (meeting Hollard’s quality guidelines and standards)
• Perform efficient and effective JAD facilitation with relevant project stakeholders

Teamwork

• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders
• Coach and mentor peers/juniors

Customers/Stakeholders

• Hollard is South Africa’s largest privately-owned insurance group. Your customers can and will range through all the business units within Hollard as well as our partners.

Required Knowledge and Experience    

• 2 or more years Business Analysis experience
• 2 or more years within a SLDC/Agile
• Experience in Insurance industry preferred.
• Experience with API and Services advantageous
• Experience as a Product Owner advantageous

Educational Requirements    

• Matric
• Business Analysis qualification an advantage
• Project Owner qualification an advantage
