    Business Controller Power Technique Division

    Your role

    • Your mission is to contribute towards the development of Power Technique Southern Africa Region to become the leading supplier of the Business Area’s equipment and services portfolio in the region.
    • To ensure the accurate application of the principles and guidelines of “The Way We Do Things” and that financial reporting and accounting matters are fully in compliance with these guidelines and local statutory requirements through accurate, relevant and timely business and financial analysis, reports and scorecards. 
    • To work closely and to develop sound and professional working relationships with the Internal Service Provider. (Business Services) 
    • To ensure that an effective internal control environment is maintained to protect the assets of the Southern Africa Customer Center of the PT Business Area. 
    • To assist the General Manager with the development of PT Business strategy, the PT Business Area planning process, and advising as a management team member on the general operations of the Business Area. 
    • To support the BLM’s where required in developing their business opportunities, contributing to the development of sales and profitability and following up on business results versus trends and analysis and report on deviations to plans. 
    • To ensure effective credit control policy and measures are in place, which are well communicated, actioned and followed up to meet the debtors days targets agreed for the PT South Africa Customer Center.  
    • To develop strong support to “People Care” by way of training and competence development of the Business Control personnel. Ensure all personnel have clear written objectives, reviewed annually through personal development meetings, performance appraisals and follow up. Identify, support and follow up specifically talented persons with good potential to grow within the Atlas Copco Group. 
    • To meet the specific agreed objectives that may vary annually as detailed in the annual variable compensation targets provided by the General Manager. 
    • To engage in other Business Control projects that may arise from time to time as the need arises. 

    To succeed, you will need

    • Ensuring the accurate application of the principles and guidelines of “The Way We Do Things” and that financial reporting and accounting matters are fully in compliance with these guidelines and local statutory requirements, through accurate relevant and timely business and financial analysis, reports and scorecards.
    • To work closely and develop sound working relationships with Internal Service Providers.
    • To ensure that an effective internal control environment is maintained to protect the Company assets.
    • To work with the General Manager in developing the business strategy and plan for PT in the region, and be an active member of the management team.
    • To review, monitor and control the planning process for financial targets and goals.
    • To work with the business line managers in developing their business opportunities and contributing to the development of sales and profitability.
    • To closely follow up on business results versus trends and analyze and report on deviations from plan.
    • To ensure that leading business indicators and highlights/red flags are produced to support the management team in steering the business.
    • To ensure an efficient and professional credit control and collections procedure is in place, is communicated and is well understood within the Company.
    • To actively manage and develop the credit control team to ensure that they have the competencies and application to fulfill their roles and responsibilities within the Company.
    • To actively support the preparation and delivery of monthly business reports and presentation to Company, Business review and executive meetings.
    • To undertake any projects related to business control, finance and accounting
    • You will report to the General Manager and will be part of the management team
    • You will be part of the Power Technique BC community and will receive full support to achieve your mission
    • You will participate in Power Technique cross-regional projects to unleash your potential
    • You will connect with the Business Controller colleagues of Power Technique BA

    Experience Requirements

    • You have solid working experience in Business Control/Financial Management
    • Working experience within Atlas Copco will be advantageous 
    • Experience in team management is a plus
    • Several years experience in finance and/or business control.
    • Analytical approach to problem solving and risk management.
    • Business oriented and able to communicate effectively with Customers at all levels.
    • Working with quality, accuracy and deadlines.
    • Knowledge of Atlas Copco’s Finance and Administration requirements as contained in “The Way”.
    • Familiar with Group accounting principles, IFRS and local statutory rules.
    • Advanced knowledge in MS Office, particularly Excel.
    • Knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage.
    • Interest to achieve efficiency improvements through new systems and procedures

    University degree or equivalent through working experience

    • Good communication and presentation skills.
    • Leadership skills to coach others in business control and risk management.
    • Fluency in English is essential.
    • Energetic personality, with strong analytical skills.
    • A keen interest to contribute to the business development.
    • A Team player.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Openness to change and proactive.
