    Business Development Consultant

    Role Purpose

    To generate new business leads in the commercial space and convert new business leads into secured appointments for the business development team. 

    Financial

    • Contribute to minimization of general expenses

    Client

    • Ensure that all stakeholders (e.g, clients and AE's) communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevant
    • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Ensure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targets

    Business processes

    • Generate new business leads (e.g through cold calling, referrals etc.)
    • Engage telephonically with leads and secure appointments for the sales team
    • Make appointments with prospective clients for the sales team and diarize  appointments
    • Adhere to company processes and quality assurance standards with regards to sourcing leads and converting leads into appointments
    • manage data in the CRM system and adhere to processes and standards in relation to the CRM system
    • Compile reports as required by management
    • provide general administration support to the sales team
    • Keep accurate records of own activities

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications & Skills

    • Matric or Equivalent
    • Computer Literate (Windows, MS Suite)
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Excellent sales and negotiation skills

    Minimum Experience

    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in insurance
    • A good understanding of the short-term insurance industry and products
    • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
