    Junior Analyst

    • A position for a Crime and Security Threat/Risk Identification Profiling Analyst role exists in Helderkruin - Roodepoort, reporting to General Manager Specialised Services. To identify, collect, analyse and report on security crime and threat information for early warning and to aide decision making and should disseminate information through quality intelligence reports on agreed intervals and when requested. The Analyst must also keep abreast with security information / intelligence related issues in the media / press including social media and other platforms

    Key areas of responsibility: (Not totally inclusive)

    The Analyst will be responsible for collection of Security Threat Information from open sources / existing supplier sources on the threats

    • Working on an online database
    • Conduct constant and continuous Security crime and threat Information gathering - be pro-active in approach and in issuing timely alerts;
    • Daily search open sources including Social Media Networks monitoring for crime and security threats and providing incident Situational information/updates where feasible
    • Conduct Environmental scans daily and issue reports / alerts
    • Collect information and profiling key individuals.
    • Research, identify and profile industries and markets in South Africa to identify trends, hotspots and activities of criminal elements and crime syndicates
    • Identify Crime Hotspots/Risk Areas where crime syndicates are operating and further provide recommendations for focused interventions in hotspot areas.
    • Identify the Modus Operandi and specific targets, sites, areas (Geographical info)
    • Respond to Adhoc requests and provide reports on entities / persons of interest and Conduct Individual Threat Assessments (Use open sources)

    Qualifications, experience and other competencies required:

    • Matric certificate/ Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • A degree in criminology, criminal justice, statistics, sociology, law enforcement will be advantageous.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in Analytical environment/Data Analysis or Law Enforcement.
    • Administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
    • Strong planning, leadership, organizational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
    • Clear background check and polygraph test.
    • Strong working knowledge of data gathering, verification, and analysis.
    • Excellent grasp of Countering Crime, GIS & Data Analytics programs.
    • Computer Literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Other Essential.
    • Pattern recognition and strategic thinking skills.

    Training Instructor - Cape Town

    • The overall purpose of this position is present, facilitate and assess training interventions as per the training function, within area of responsibility. Compliance with best practices, quality assurance standards and Industry requirements stipulated in applicable legislation.

    Qualifications, experience and other competencies required:

    • Driver’s License (EB)
    • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel is essential
    • Grade 12 / NQF 4
    • PSIRA Grades E-A Instructor
    • Tactical training (a must)
    • Facilitator registration with ETDP SETA
    • Assessor registration with ETDP SETA & SASSETA
    • Moderator registration with ETDP SETA & SASSETA will be an advantage
    • General Security Practices (GSO) at NQF 3
    • Specialist Security Practices Qualification at NQF 4
    • Competence in Firearm Unit Standards: Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle, Carbine and PFTC Firearms Unit standards Instructor registration.
    • Minimum 3-5years experience and full knowledge related to the training environment
    • No Criminal Record or pending cases
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • Numerical accuracy.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to details.
    • Ability to liaise professionally with personnel at all levels.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Solid attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information
    • To participate in various ad-hoc projects where necessary

    • Present, assess and facilitate training interventions according to Industry and internal standards to as per QMS and best practices.
    • Coach and guide learners on learnerships to ensure competence standards are achieved as per programme objectives, learning outcomes, or unit standard outcomes.
    • Comply with curriculum and training interventions within area of responsibility via effective facilitation and assessment methods.
    • Compliance with legislative and Quality Assurance guidelines that includes but are not limited to: SASSETA / PSIRA / NKP/ SAPS / DoL / PFTC/ CAA / QCTO etc.
