    Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    Main responsibilities:

    • Attract new customers from offline channels through:
    • Search for clients among owners of small shops, restaurants, cafes and other businesses that require bulk products for further resale or use
    • Building a partner network of pick-up points for issuing orders using existing small businesses
    • Creation of an agency network to attract customers to our services among various formed communities of people - Church communities, Learning communities, Stokvels and others.

    What needs to be done:

    • Initially, independently work in the field to attract customers and partners. Next steps would be the formation of a team of sales managers and management of this team
    • Together with other functions in the company, develop principles and methods for searching, connecting and operating partner pickup points.
    • Building and developing a network of pickup points.
    • Development of a methodology for working with agents among communities, attracting, motivating, and rewarding.
    • Building a network of agents among communities of people

    The Successful Applicant

    Requirements:

    • Successful experience in active sales or business development for at least three years.
    • Knowledge of the basic principles of work and organisation of businesses of target customers (how a spaza shop or cafe works, what problems of the owner we can solve by supplying him with products and goods)
    • Knowledge of the principles of organising communities of people and possible entry points to them.
    • Having an existing relevant customer base would be an advantage
    • The candidate must have "digital literacy" - to know and understand how distance selling works. Have experience with smart phone applications. Be an active user of other online services.
    • Experience in e-commerce would be a plus for a candidate.
