Business Systems Analyst at Luno

The role in a nutshell

In this role, you’ll be envisioning, developing, implementing and maintaining the best tools, which provide strategically aligned value for a rapidly scaling business.

Your mission will involve 

• Maintain and build improvements in existing systems (Anaplan, Kissflow, Sage) with help from internal teams and/ or external consultants.

• Seek out opportunities for automation through review and redesign of existing processes.

• Identify, evaluate, design, test and implement new systems and tools in collaboration with the teams they serve.

• Understand business processes to identify areas for improvement/streamlining through gaining an understanding of dependencies, systems, automation risks and challenges.

• Review internal systems to ensure they are aligned across the business.

• Provide guidance in troubleshooting root-cause errors in complex or mission critical processes.

• Consulting strategically on how the systems scale.

In your first six months, you will

• Learn the workings of our key existing systems

• Maintain and build improvements to our existing systems

• Review existing processes, with the mindset of seeking out opportunities for automation

• Integrate yourself into the team and learn our ways of working

‘The ideal Lunaut for this role, will have’ 

Essential skills

• A bright, logical mindset, with the ability to quickly grasp concepts and think creatively about solutions.

• Ability to assess and prioritise incoming information in order to draw inferences from that information that will inform a line of enquiry.

• The attention to detail of a hawk.

• Proficiency in SQL and Javascript coding  to set up APIs to automate data retrieval from underlying databases.

• Understanding of processes, systems and flow of data.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of people across the business at all levels.

• Excellent written and verbal skills

Nice-to-haves

• Excel in Excel.

• Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience.

• Exposure to existing Luno systems (Sage X3, Anaplan, Looker, Kissflow).
