• The purpose of this position is to procure materials, services and supplies for the WCPO Site.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that quality products are purchased and delivered to site within the required time frame with the lowest possible total cost of ownership
• Provide technical and relevant data to all end users
• Develop and maintain relationships with both internal customers and external suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, payment terms, approved substitutes and other cost saving initiatives
• Liaise with user departments over material requirements and major shutdowns
• Work hand in hand with the Materials Controller to ensure that there are no stock outs or any financial loss to the Company due to quality or supply problems
• Pro-active expediting of outstanding purchase orders.
• Investigate and develop supply sources
• Investigate and follow up on all receiving discrepancies associated with purchase orders
• Assist with the investigation and resolution of all invoice mismatches associated with orders
• Understand the procure to pay as well as contract to procure process
• Run tender and RFQ processes
• Evaluation of tenders / supplier quotes
• Contract Administration (capture, filing, monitor, manage, goals / services receipt

Qualification Requirements

• Grade 12
• Relevant Diploma in Purchasing or Materials Management or a similar qualification will be advantageous

Experience and Skills Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Buyer within the mining industry
• Strong commercial acumen
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills
• English language proficiency
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Computer literate in MS Office
