    Category Marketing Manager - Confectionary

    Position Summary

We’re now looking for a Category Marketing Manager within our Chocolate division in Bryanston (Brands KITKAT, BARONE, AERO, SMARTIES, TEX, MILKYBAR, PEPPERMINT CRISP).

    The Category Marketing Manager for chocolates leads the marketing team to develop, monitor, and implement the marketing plan of responsible brands with respect to products mix, market segments, promotions and advertising, new product development and project management, as well as recommend the activities to the sales team to achieve marketing objective.

    A day in the life of a CMM:

    • Know your Consumer deeply: Carefully chooses target consumers based on attractiveness and ability to win; then makes sure to fully understand who they are, what they do and why they do it. Externally attentive to trends, competitors and consumer choice drivers and can turn this understanding into strong growth driving insights.
    • Inspire with Brand Vision and Essence: Defines an inspiring, purpose-centered Brand Essence and enduring Brand Properties to generate passionate and aligned contributions from many people inside and outside Nestlé (developed or applied from SBU / GMB).
    • Design a Sustainable and Innovative Portfolio People Love: Ensures the development of portfolios/brands that reflect the portfolio/ brand purpose by continuously assessing how it delivers against consumers' articulated, unarticulated and yet to be imagined needs and performance against competition.
    • Plan and Execute Flawlessly: Works cross-functionally to build strong and aligned plans, leading to outstanding execution every day, everywhere. Understands the impact of our initiatives and adjusts actions accordingly.
    • Create Engaging Brand Experiences: Brings to life brand activities originated from a single, powerful Big Idea, to engage individuals and families when and where they are most receptive to brand contacts. Understands the impact of our initiatives and adjusts actions accordingly to deliver results.
    • Financial & Business Acumen: Understands the broader business with a strong financial acumen allowing them the ability to manage the levers of value creation and margin enhancement to drive profitable brand. Strong marketing investment management and compliance.
    • People Development: Demonstrate leadership and facilitate development of his / her team. Stretches and coaches the team on best practice marketing knowledge and holds accountability for delivery. Harnesses the full extent of the diversity of the team to drive business performance and personal aspirations.

    What will make you successful:

    • Minimum 6 Years’ experience in marketing with strong digital marketing experience (preferably FMCG experience)
    • Experience in leading & driving cross functional project teams
    • Post Matric Qualification i.e. Bachelor's Degree/IMM Diploma
    • People manager experience -seasoned coach with proven track record
    • Innovative - impatient with convention but resists change for 'change sake'
    • Shapes the future - Understands and shapes the external trends & insights.
    • Ability to work well under time pressure / stressful conditions.
    • Ability to enable results through self and others.
