    Cost Estimator - Alberton

    Principle Accountabilities:

    • Compile a Mechanical and Electrical Bill of Material per machine type from Engineering drawings and schematics, ensuring that the latest revision is supplied.
    • Cost both Mechanical and Electrical Bills of Material.
    • Ensure that all revision to the Bills of Material is signed off by an authorized person.
    • Communicate issues with suppliers or costing to the relevant person.
    • Negotiate best pricing from suppliers but must be a quality product and justify supplier. Refer to Price Book for Contract prices first.
    • Create and allocate all SIVs on Syspro, highlighting shortages and request Stores to raise SCTs from After Market where possible.
    • Update Bill of Material with relevant changes.
    • Create transfer documents when spares are moved from one job to another. Request Stores to transfer items on the System from one Job to the other.
    • Remove excess items from Bill of Material when extra items are returned to stock from completed jobs. List to be received from Expediter prior to removal from BOM, reasons required from the Workshop floor as to why.
    • Remit Bill of Material to buyer with all buy outs clearly marked and actual delivery dates indicated.
    • Remit SIVs to Stores with delivery dates clearly indicated.
    • Arrange transportation to and from mine for machines.
    • Arrange Brake Tests, installation of Fire Suppression Systems and Engine Protection upon request.
    • Request hydraulic and electrical schematics from the relevant departments Product Managers.
    • Any other additional administrative duties.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric
    • 5 Years Technical Experience
    • Syspro Experience
    • Negotiation skills
    • Understand Costing
    • Accuracy and Efficiency is critical at a high level of output
    • Ability to perform under pressure
    • Working a certain amount of overtime will be required
    • Good communication skills
    • Good interpersonal skills

    • BCom Degree (Finance/Business Management)
    • Excellent communication skills and people skills
    • MS Word, Intermediate Excel and Syspro
    • Motor vehicle licence
