    Chief Commercial Officer

    Job Purpose

    • Leads the organisation toward the achievement of an approved vision by developing and implementing a business strategy that fully leverages the organization's capabilities and by creating conditions in which employees can contribute to the full extent of their potential.

    Responsibilities

    Strategy Formation

    Fully responsible for the development and implementation of a long-term strategy in building our postpaid strategy and commercializing new products into this market as a competitive differentiation across the industry, including but not limited to:

    • Enable the transformation of current business by commercializing our postpaid offering.
    • Developing a marketing strategy.
    • Building products.
    • Selling strategies for the postpaid product.
    • Building and implementing a postpaid cellular strategy for CEC through various channels including, but not limited

    Business Planning

    • Direct the development of annual and longer-term business plans for the organisation, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategy.
    • Participate in overall business planning, providing input to a future vision of appropriate systems in relation to the organisation's needs, intent and capabilities.
    • Quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other key performance indicators)
    • Set resource budgets (financial and headcount).
    • Review and approve business cases for programs that have a strategic business impact.

    Innovation Strategy, Pipeline and Roadmap

    • Exploring available applications and commercial opportunities to generate future capabilities that enable revenue streams for CEC.
    • Recommend or facilitate idealization and development of new and disruptive product and services that will differentiate us from our competitors to grow CEC’s revenue streams and profitability into the future.
    • Maintain the fitness of CEC into the future by looking for opportunities to continuously improve operational efficiency, effectiveness and customer experience with existing product and services pipelines.
    • Drive formulation of new, creative and effective ways of leveraging the business’s vast data store and capabilities set to both resolve existing business needs and develop new business opportunities.
    • Consistently conducts research, design, implementation, and validation of cutting-edge solutions and strategies based on available inputs and prioritized needs to enable delivery of business solutions across diverse fronts.

    Business Engagement and Collaboration

    • Drive acceptance and integration of CEC and its products and services.
    • Support business leadership and users to understand and embrace CEC’s products and solutions.
    • Work with stakeholders throughout the organisation to promote the business approach for informed decision making by business decision makers, and effective application of the CEC's suite capabilities.
    • Knowledge sharing and explanation within contexts and levels of detail that recipients may appreciate.
    • Drive the roll out, acceptance of, understanding of, delivery of, and expansion of the application of the Products, and services across the BLT businesses and select Associates.
    • Contribute to the development of business unit strategy by providing a view on potential improvements for products or services and an assessment of the existing situation and anticipated changes in the external environment.

    Governance and Security

    • Works with the Security team to ensure that the information used adheres to the regulatory and security policies and agreements in place and provides motivation to improve upon these where possible.
    • Qualifies where information can be stored or what information, external to the organisation, may be used in support of the use case.
    • Collaborates with the Security team to ensure that the information used follows the compliance, access management, and control policies and that it meets the qualification and assurance requirements of the Group.
    • Ensures all audits meet the standards set by the Group Audit and Risk Committee and other operating standards
    • Formulate policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation and ensure implementation thereof.

    Board Relationship

    • Help ensure the business has an effective Board by developing and improving relationships with Board members and by identifying priorities, issues and strategic challenges in the business and preparing them for discussion.

    Financial Management and Control

    • Manage a significant portion of the organization's financial management with regards to products.

    Leadership and Direction

    • Be an effective inspirational leader to facilitate the creation of motivated, accountable, full service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
    • Coach, counsel and train the team, operational managers and staff to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture.
    • Role model behaviour and motivate team members in line with the CEC’s values and ethos.
    • Guidance of others and active development of self to improve on their productivity and communication abilities so that CEC’s capabilities and deliveries are better understood and thus trusted and applied through the business.
    • Translates strategy into goals for performance and growth helping to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
    • Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of the organisation.
    • Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities.

    Self-Management

    • Set an example through personal quality and productivity standards and ways of working with others.
    • Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures.
    • Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands.
    • Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change.
    • Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organisational and team needs.

    Minimum requirements

    • University / Post Graduate (Masters Degree) preferred
    • Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (Over 10 years to 15 years)
    • Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames (More than 8 years)
