Grade 12 Certificate plus a 3-year Degree B-tech degree/ Civil/ Structural Engineering. (NQF LEVEL 7 as recognised by SAQA) Compulsory Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional: Engineer/Technologist plus 5 years of relevant working experience at as Engineer/Technologist Valid drivers’ licence and computer literacy are essential.
Responsibilities:
Manage the roads' special maintenance services at the district. Manage and execute the maintenance of roads and streets and monitor and control road maintenance projects at the district. Monitor and control the quality of work done by contractors at the district. Manage material design.
Enforce road ordinances, protection Acts on and administers maintenance contracts. Ensure effective maintenance of roads in the district. Maintain road systems and provide training services. Develop and maintain a bridge management system. Develop and maintain a maintenance management system.
Develop and maintain a pavement management system. Coordinate training services for officials for operating heavy equipment. Management of risks, budget, expenditure, human resources, strategic planning, and audit issues. Write of reports.
