Essential Requirements: Relevant postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Business Administration/Public Administration/Governance/Finance/Economics/Law, or a related field 8-10 years experience at a Senior Management level, of which a minimum of five (5) years must be at Executive Management level.
Preferred Requirements: Masters Degree (NQF Level 9) in Business Administration/Public Administration/Governance/Finance/Economics/Law, or a related field Executive Management experience within a regulatory authority/public entity/similar environment.
Key Performance Areas:
Provide overall strategic leadership and direction for the ECGB, ensuring alignment to its statutory mandate and the strategy Position the ECGB as a leading, efficient, and credible gambling regulator and jurisdiction of choice
Ensure the effectiveness, integrity, and coherence of the regulatory system across licensing, compliance, enforcement, and gaming control Drive strategic interventions to displace illegal gambling activities and strengthen regulatory enforcement capability
Ensure the financial sustainability of the ECGB through effective revenue generation, including gambling taxes from land-based and online operators Ensure the implementation of sound corporate governance, ethics, accountability, and reporting frameworks across the organization
Enable the effective functioning of the Board and its Committees through accurate, timely, and decision-ready support Ensure effective organisational performance management Position the ECGB as an Employer of Choice Drive the adoption and integration of digital technologies, including AI and systems-based regulation to enhance regulatory intelligence and decision-making capability Lead research, knowledge management & policy development.
