JOB SUMMARY
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will be primarily responsible to manage and lead the daily operations and strategic functions for the following departments.
- Financial
- Admin & IT
- Human Resources
- Reporting
RESPONSIBILITY: Financial Strategy
DUTIES
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives;
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes;
- Improved strategy implementation and increased certain revenue streams;
- Assess and manage financial risks, ensuring the company’s financial health and stability.
RESPONSIBILITY: Capital Management
DUTIES
Manage capital structure, including debt and equity financing, to support business growth and expansion;
- Evaluate investment opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions;
- Compiled new improved financial dashboards and financial reporting structures for the group organisation;
- Optimize working capital and cash flow management to maximize liquidity.
RESPONSIBILITY: Strategic Planning
DUTIES
- Maintains and directs the daily operations of the business, including coordinating
- with Financial, Admin– and IT, Human Resources and Power BI team of Naturesmart.
- Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures;
- Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.);
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth;
- Assist the CEO in strategic operation plans and strategic forecasts;
- Ensure strategic thinking, intelligent reporting and astute financial decision making
- are established;
- Meets with and reports to the CEO about the company’s daily finances, as well as the
- CEO’s plans for any upcoming adjustments or developments to business operations
- strategy, or other company goals and objectives;
- Ensures alignment with current company policies and goals, including those that the
- CFO creates themselves, as well as those developed by the CEO and other executive
RESPONSIBILITY: Oversee other departments
DUTIES
- Oversee the following departments:
- Financial
- Admin & IT
- Human Resources
- Power BI
- Ensure all targets and KPI’s are reached within each department mentioned above;
- Ensure all departments function in the most cost-effective way daily and stay within budget;
- Maintain a secure and fail-safe IT department;
- Oversee all the organisations accounts and financial investments with relevant stakeholders;
- Supervise and manage financial department staff and ensure efficiency in the admin department;
- Hold weekly meetings with Managers in respective departments and keep record of the meetings.
RESPONSIBILITY: Team Leadership & Management
DUTIES
- Provide leadership and direction to Financial, Admin- and IT, Human Resources and Power BI team teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement;
- Motivate and lead finance members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback;
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to develop their skills and capabilities in managing operations effectively;
- Identify, develop and implement training programs to expand the capacity of all subordinates;
- Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all operations;
- Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
RESPONSIBILITY: Change Management and Innovation
DUTIES
- Lead or support change initiatives, such as process improvements, technology implementations, or organizational restructuring.
- Foster a culture of innovation and agility within various functions, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to drive value creation
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
- Bachelors of Accounting Degree;
- Completed CIMA/SAICA articles and registered as a CA.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- 8-10 years experience in fresh produce / agri industry;
- Strong cashflow background;
- Operations background;
- Team Management;
- Experience in similar position.
