Grade 12 plus a 4-year BSc Degree (NQF 8) in Agriculture/Agro-processing/Food Technology qualification as recognised by SAQA.
3-5 years’ experience in Agriculture and Agroprocessing environment. Valid driver’s license.
Duties :
Provide effective Agro-processing support to new and existing Small and Medium Agroprocessing Enterprises who are processing crops, fruits and vegetables, indigenous and industrial crops into various value-added products.
Administer project management interventions aimed at assisting new and existing crop processing stakeholders with planning, development and operations of their processing plants.
Working with the unit head and National Department and municipalities, obtain, evaluate, update and disseminate the relevant information to keep Gauteng crop processing industries and other stakeholders informed of new trends/ technical requirements / sanitary measures.
Raise awareness on the application of product standards/ legislation/ policies/ guidelines/ checklists/ inspection procedures and standard operating procedures to identify gaps and trends in the crop processing sector.
