Technical and Operational Support

• Promote company culture and vision
• Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
• Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of General Managers at each of the operations.
• Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
• Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
• Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
• Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
• Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
• Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability.
• Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting
• Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders

Safety

• Ensure that Safety protocols and Operating Procedures are followed.
• Promote safety, health and environmental awareness.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and rules in place at specific work locations

People Management / Development

• Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work performance of the team
• Plans, organises, leads, and develops work plans for the team
• Promotes teamwork, provides support, manages and evaluates performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans and performance contracts for the team  
• Recommends and approves development plans
• Develops and coaches
• Organise the work of the team to ensure all functions and services are provided efficiently, while providing rewarding work, with clear accountabilities and authorities
• Ensure the transfer of technology from expatriate to national employees and the promotion and support of national employee training and development.

Essential Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business or related field
• Extensive experience in Africa
• Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role
• BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
• Russian speaking

Skills and Competencies

Knowledge

• Fluent in English
• Knowledge and or experience in the mining industry
• French and Russian speaking will be an advantage
