    Civil Society Sector Support and Monitoring Officer - GS/00086/22

    Anova is looking for a Civil Society Support and Monitoring Officer to be seconded to the Gauteng AIDS Council, to provide support and assist Programme Coordinator with the day to day running of the unit. The successful candidate will be expected to monitor provincial funding of civil society, collaborate with provincial, district and local civil society structures to create and develop opportunities for clear channels of communication.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support and assist the Programme Coordinator with day to day running of the unit.
    • Monitor provincial funding of Civil society.
    • Collaborate with provincial, district and local civil society structures.
    • Identify, record and plan to address learning needs of funded sectors.
    • Provide feedback and reports on assessment of their progress towards achieving
    • their agreed objectives to the funding.
    • Encourage and support funded sectors to deliver reports and other documentation timeously.
    • Assist the development of capacity of the district secretariats and sectors to understand and respond effectively to AIDS Council mandates and reports.
    • Assist sectors to identify and address weaknesses in their structures and challenges in their environment.
    • Create and develop opportunities for clear channels of communication between provincial and districts structures
    • Contribute to and support the capacity programme developed by the Project Support Unit.
    • Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

    Minimum qualifications, experience and skills required

    • A 3-year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Health/ Social Sciences/ equivalent NQF 6 Certificate.
    • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in Government and Non-Governmental Organisations
    • (NGOs) will be a recommendation.
    • Experience in HIV and AIDS programmes.
    • At least three years’ experience in developing, assessing, monitoring and evaluating civil society programmes.
    • The ability to work as part of a team.
    • Good negotiating skills.
    • The ability to deliver work within a specified time frame.
    • Creative and problem solving skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, conflict management and coordination skills.
    • Good project management, financial management, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
    • Driver’s license and willingness to travel as and when required
