The role:  Claims Advisor

The Claims Advisor is a claims handler, who can independently service clients. Receives new claims from clients and/or colleagues to review, process, collect information and notify all appropriate insurers. Role identifies and validates coverage information, updates core claims applications, and tracks the process through to completion of each claim’s movement or until finalization of the Marsh responsibilities agreed with the client. Role will manage, facilitate, and action all subsequent movements or activities, including settlement or payment as appropriate and reporting, through to completion of the claim. Will also handle or assist others on more complex matters, acting as a technical referral point. Finally, role provides procedural advice to clients as necessary and manages a portfolio of complex or significant value claims, or client transactions.

We will rely on you to:

• Proactive Management of an allocated caseload which includes complex and high value cases.
• Ensure all Client requests and queries are dealt with promptly and accurately.
• To gather all relevant claims information & documentation.
• Provide claims guidance to clients managing expectations and ensuring that they are kept informed and advised of all necessary developments.
• To action all new claims & report to the relevant insurers and stake holders within applicable SLA’s & KPI’s. 
• Effective communication with all key stakeholders attending internal meetings representing claims
• Build and manage effective internal and external relationships with all involved parties.
• Proactive diary task management.
• Ensure all files are maintained and data captured is accurate and up to date.
• Produce claims reports as required.
• To ensure all regulatory process requirements are adhered to

What you need to have: 

• Fluent English and Afrikaans language
• Minimum of 5 years Claims Handling experience within non motor or corporate claims handling
• Effective communication & negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (or equivalent) – Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Insurance claims handling knowledge
• Ability to influence and build relationships
• Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
• RE Examination preferable or to be obtained
