About the role    

• To apply short-term insurance policy requirements, inspect and test claim information, gather and investigate supporting documentation, execute claims administration activities, support clients and stakeholders, report claim progress, maintain accurate records, troubleshoot claim queries, escalate complex matters and comply with company, insurer and regulatory requirements to enable fair, accurate and timely claim outcomes.

What you'll do    

• Apply short-term insurance policy wording, cover requirements and claims procedures when assessing claim information and determining the next steps.
• Inspect claim details, documentation and supporting evidence to confirm completeness, accuracy and alignment to insurer requirements.
• Test claim information against policy terms, conditions, exclusions and available evidence to support fair and compliant claim outcomes.
• Gather required claim forms, reports, quotations, statements and other supporting documentation from clients, insurers, service providers and third parties.
• Investigate claim merits, missing information, discrepancies and potential risk indicators to support accurate claim assessment and resolution.
• Execute claims administration activities from registration through to settlement, including follow-ups, claim updates, documentation and closure.
• Support clients, insurers and internal stakeholders by providing timely feedback, clarifying requirements and assisting with claim-related queries.
• Report claim progress, outstanding information, risks, escalations and settlement updates to insurers and relevant stakeholders as required.
• Maintain accurate claim records, diary notes, supporting documents and system updates in line with company, insurer and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot claim process issues, information gaps and stakeholder queries to minimise delays and support efficient claim finalisation.
• Escalate complex claims, risks, disputes, suspected fraud indicators or service delivery concerns in line with internal procedures.
• Comply with company policies, insurer requirements, service standards and applicable regulatory obligations when handling claims and client information.

What you bring    

• Matric with Mathematics (essential)
• A relevant tertiary qualification in insurance, business administration, finance or a related field will be advantageous.
• IISA or other recognised tertiary insurance certification in Short-Term Insurance is required or should be in progress.
• RE5, Class of Business: Personal Lines and/or Commercial Lines, or equivalent short-term insurance accreditation will be advantageous where applicable.
• +3 years’ experience in a short-term insurance claims environment, with exposure to claims registration, documentation, investigation, insurer engagement and settlement processes or a similar role (essential).
